You want it to be easier and safer. Just when you thought you wouldn’t see another version of Internet Explorer in the coming Ice Age, Microsoft took the world by releasing its latest browser application.
It’s been a while since many Internet users have been bored waiting for Microsoft to update its technology and look for Firefox elsewhere.
Now the great and evil king of seamen was not interested in seeing his crown struggling, but was it enough to recover his troops?
To begin with, the new streamlined interface is an upgrade.
Microsoft basically presses the menu bar and hides all of its tools and functions in one set of compact icons, neatly placed in the upper-right corner of the interface.
It allows you to view pages in a very large viewing space. IE finally decided to browse the tabs. This includes a new tab button to open instantly, plus a smart Quick Tab button, which opens a thumbnail preview of all the tabs you open in one screen and, unlike Firefox, IE 7 actually has a close button on each tab.
You can even keep tabs as your homepage until they start at the beginning. We also appreciate the print preview tool, which changes page 7 based on your page to improve the way you integrate RSS. Every time you find a site that supports RSS, the icon in the toolbar turns orange.
Click and you will be taken to a page that lists all the feeds on this site. Just click subscribe to this feed link to add it to your favorites.
You can also subscribe by clicking the small star icon on the left. Unlike Firefox, there is no drop-down menu for each item in the feed.
Favorite centers, opened by clicking on the big star icons, are divided into favorites, feeds, and history.
Security is usually one of the weak points of IE.
In addition to pop-up blockers, version 7 also offers anti-phishing filters. To try it out, we opened a popular phishing website published on Phishtank. We were disappointed, the filter didn’t report much. Phishing protection may not be the strength of IE 7s, but at least browsers include SSL 2 security protocol.
0 and 3.0 and TLS 1.0, just like Firefox.
Despite all the improvements, IE is still not perfect. Like Firefox, IE does not pass the Acid2 test and does not even support the latest standards.
We see IE lagging and dragging every time we open a new tab, toolbar and apply a new setting. You can add a large number of search bar providers and add-ons from the Microsoft website, but they’re still much smaller than the Mozilla extension for Firefox.
In addition, IE 7 is actually restricted to those with XP SP2 and for some reason you may need to turn off your antivirus and restart your PC to properly install (function () {(‘review-app-page-desktop’);} );
